The climb from Avon to Beaver Creek Village gains 1,500 ft in under four miles on a road that ices before I-70 does. Two-wheel drive vehicles get turned around at the gate in a storm.

Beaver Creek is a gated resort and the guard needs your lodging name to let a vehicle up. We register the trip before departure so you are not sitting at the gate with a phone that has no signal.
Arriving
Most Beaver Creek properties are ski-in and have no vehicle access at the door. We drop at the closest permitted point and Village porters take it from there.
In summer
Summer is quiet and the Village Road drive is genuinely beautiful. The Vilar concert schedule is the main reason for evening returns.
