Denver to Ski Resort Transfers
From September through May, the drive to the resorts is a different job from the drive across town. I-70 west of Georgetown is a mountain highway with a chain law attached to it, and the difference between a good transfer and a bad one is entirely in the preparation.
Traction Law ready from September 1
Colorado runs Traction and Chain Law on I-70 between Dotsero and Morrison from September 1 to May 31. Our SUVs are on dedicated winter tyres above the 3/16-inch tread minimum for the whole window, which is the actual legal requirement, not all-seasons and optimism.
Flat rate by resort, not by meter
Every mountain transfer is a fixed price per vehicle by destination and season, published on the page for that resort. A storm that turns a two-hour drive into four does not change what you pay.
Ski and board bags travel inside
The SUVs take six passengers with six sets of skis or boards inside the vehicle. Nothing goes on a roof rack in a snowstorm, which is how equipment gets damaged and how transfers get slow.
We tell you when not to travel
If CDOT is going to close Vail Pass, we would rather move your pickup by three hours than put you on it. That call gets made the night before, by someone who has driven the road that week.
